Flora and Fauna Garden Design was established in 2002 by Natasha Burrows, landscape designer and horticultural consultant.
Natasha has been designing and consulting in Sydney’s northern suburbs for over 15 years. She has the following qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Urban Horticulture (UTS)
- Graduate Diploma of Landscape Planning (UNSW)
Natasha has extensive plant knowledge following a long-term background in the nursery industry, and a firm understanding of soils having been Urban Soil Consultant at Sydney Environmental and Soil Laboratory for some years.
She has consulted and designed for the Backyard Blitz TV program, Eden Gardens, Wirreanda Nursery and Chris Chominsky Landscapes.
Natasha was the winner of the 2003 ABC Gardening Australia Design Competition, and has since designed and constructed 2 show gardens for ABC Gardening Australia and the Sydney Garden and Flower Show, Darling Harbour. (See the Gallery section for images)
As a passionate horticulturist, Natasha’s personal interest is the use of Australian native plants. As a talented landscape designer however she ensures the plant selection and overall style of the design is complementary to, and appropriate for, the existing site location; architecture; genius loci (sense of place); and client preference. This results in a range of concept styles reflective of the needs of each individual project.
